The United States Of America Overtakes The United Kingdom As The Dominant Source Of Capital Inflow In Nigeria

According to the capital importation report from the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, three countries that have consistently accounted for over 60 percent of capital importation in Nigeria are The United States of America, The United Kingdom, and The United Arab Emirates. Although in the third quarter of 2018, the United States of America overtook the United Kingdom, contributing $911 million while the United Kingdom contributed $871 million to Nigeria’s capital importation. However, capital importation from both countries declined significantly from the second quarter of 2018’s level. The capital import from the UK decreased from $1.7 billion in the second quarter of 2018 to $871 million in the third quarter of 2018. While capital import decreased from $1.2 billion in the second quarter of 2018 to $911 million in the third quarter of 2018.
